The Public Good is a dynamic consulting practice that provides our clients with highly skilled and experienced professionals in response to their specific needs and project requirements.  The firm’s vision and results are managed by Patricia Davies who brings in expert consultant-contractors to fulfill each project’s unique requirements.  Our business model is designed to provide our clients the most effective resources with superb economic efficiency.

Patricia Davies, principal.

Patricia has more than 17 years’ experience working with public sector and nonprofit agencies in staff and management roles, as a volunteer, a board member, and as a management consultant.  She’s worked with the federal government, New York City government agencies, national and community-based non-profits and international non-governmental organizations.

Her technical expertise includes budget development, operations management, strategic planning, activity-based costing, business process improvement, government procurement, program evaluation and policy & procedures development.

Patricia began her public service career as a Management Analyst with the US Internal Revenue Service where she completed a highly competitive resources management training program.  She conducted resource management and quality improvement studies for the Manhattan District and northeast region.

Before starting The Public Good, she applied her analytical and planning skills towards social service and poverty-related programs as a program evaluator for Women In Need, Inc. a non-profit social service agency providing temporary shelter and addiction treatment for families throughout New York City; a senior analyst at NYC Office of Management & Budget where she oversaw the development of the Homeless Services $420 million budget; and Director of Operations for Adult Services at NYC Department of Homeless Services.

Following government employment, she joined the Public Sector Advisory Services practice at KPMG  LLP as a Senior Consultant and Manager where she advised public and non-profit clients on activity-based costing studies, financial planning and business process improvements.

Patricia holds a B.A. with Honors from Rutgers University and an M.P.A. from Columbia University’s School of International & Public Affairs and was previously a board member of the following organizations:  Enterprise NY (Jr. Board); Stanton Street Shul; WebServesUs.
